Here are some screen shots from the 'Dinner Scene' that we filmed for our music video. The reason for filming this particular scene was to present the differences between our female protagonist Rosie and her family, as she appears as isolated and the odd one out throughout this scene.
Mise-en-scene was highly considered when filming this scene, therefore we included props such as a teapot, teacups and a plate of cakes. This made the scene appear realistic and illustrated the characters of Rosie's family. These props also signified our 'Alice in Wonderland' theme as it was like the 'Mad Hatters Tea Party' which again conforms to the idea and representation that Rosie is alone and lost, just like the character of Alice.
In this scene that i have taken from our music video, you can see the contrast between Rosie and the rest of her family, as the drinking of the tea appears to unite her parents and sister, whilst Rosie is left alone. This isolates her from the remainder of the family, presenting her as an outcast.
The editing was significant in this scene, as the fast pace and layering of the clips creates a chaotic atmosphere. This illustrates the confusion and chaos surrounding Rosie and her life. Also, in this scene we see Rosie again appearing isolated and different to her family, as her dad shouts at her, presenting conflict and Rosie as an outcast from the rest of the family once again.
